A small group.
A shared goal.

CNF Motion brings Cinematist and Northfront Interactive together: a small group of independent developers with a shared goal of helping other game developers bring their projects to life.

We build our own projects too. We know what it's like to have an idea you can't leave alone, and how much the right people can help. That's the kind of team we want to be for you—people you can talk to, build with, and figure things out alongside.

05 / A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Good questions.
Honest answers.

A little about the work, the practical details, and what to expect from us.

Something else on your mind? Include it in your inquiry. You don't need to have everything figured out.

Tell us about your project

Your project

Who do you work with?

Game developers, from solo creators and indie teams to established game studios. Whether you're building your first game or looking for extra animation support for your next release, we'd like to hear what you have in mind. We'll discuss the scope and make sure we're a good fit.

What kinds of animation can I ask for?

Character movement, gestures, reactions, and interactions for games. That could mean idle and movement loops, action and combat reactions, or transitions between actions. Send us a description or reference so we can discuss the style, complexity, and what your game needs.

Can I order one animation or a whole pack?

Both. We take inquiries for individual animations and coordinated collections. For a pack, a rough list of movements, variations, and transitions helps us understand how everything should fit together. If you're still working that out, we can start with the idea.

What do you need for a quote?

Tell us about the project, the animations you need, and where they'll be used. A rough animation count, clip lengths, reference links, target timing, and any budget range are useful. If you have a character or rig, mention it. A short description is enough to start the conversation.

The animation work

What format do you export, and will it work with my game?

We export animations in FBX format. Tell us which game engine you're using, including Roblox, and share your rig requirements. We'll confirm compatibility and agree any retargeting or import setup work before the project starts.

Do I need a finished character or rig?

You don't need a finished character to get in touch. If you already have a model or rig, tell us what stage it's at and what files are available. Character creation and rigging are separate from animation; we'll discuss any preparation needed before work starts.

How long does a project take?

Timing depends on the number and complexity of the animations, any character setup, feedback rounds, and our availability. We'll discuss a schedule after reviewing your brief. If you have a fixed deadline, include it in your inquiry so we can check it before committing.

What will you deliver?

You’ll receive the agreed animation clips as FBX files. Your quote will list the animations, rig requirements, and any additional work included. Let us know if you need loops, transitions, particular frame rates, or help importing the files into your game so we can confirm the details together.

Working together

How much does it cost, and when do I pay?

Quotes are free, with no commitment or payment needed to inquire. Pricing depends on the scope, complexity, and deliverables. If you're working to a smaller budget, tell us your priorities so we can explore a manageable starting point. Any deposit, payment schedule, and project costs will be agreed before work begins.

How do feedback and revisions work?

We'll agree the review stages and included revisions in your quote. Clear references and feedback help us stay close to what you have in mind. If you need new animations or changes beyond the agreed scope, we'll discuss the effect on cost and timing before taking that work on.

Can I use the animations commercially, and who owns them?

Tell us how you plan to use the animations, including any commercial release. Usage rights, ownership, exclusivity, and any limits on reuse will be agreed in writing for your project before work starts. If you need exclusive rights or use across several projects, include that in your brief.

Will you sign an NDA for a confidential project?

Yes. We're happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) when needed. Mention it in your inquiry and keep the initial description general. We can review and agree the NDA before you share confidential materials or unreleased project details.

Can you work with a larger team or on an ongoing basis?

We're open to ongoing collaborations and animation support for larger game projects, subject to scope and availability. Share your milestones, expected workload, review process, and any onboarding requirements. We're a small team, so we'll be clear about what we can take on and agree a practical plan with you.
